How to Play One Has to Go

Four options. One must go. Defend your choice and discover where you and your partner disagree—or agree to disagree.

How the game works

  1. See the four options

Each round gives you four things (e.g. pizza, salad, ice cream, cheesecake). You both have to pick one to eliminate. No ties—one has to go.

  2. Pick one to eliminate

Decide which one gets the boot. It might be easy or agonizing. That's the point.

  3. Defend your choice

Explain why. Compare answers. When you disagree, that's when the real fun starts.
