How to Play Past Small Talk

Curated questions designed to move beyond surface-level chitchat. Draw cards and go deeper—one question at a time.

How the game works

  1. Draw a card

Each card has one question. Draw one (or tap to flip, in the app), read it out loud, and both answer. There's no right or wrong—just real talk.

  2. Answer together

Take turns or answer together, whatever feels natural. The point is to go beyond small talk and learn something about each other.

  3. Go at your own pace

Questions range from light to deeper. Move through the deck at whatever speed works—linger on a question or skip ahead.
